Help shape a safer, positive future for young people in Clackmannanshire

Ochil Youths Community Improvement (OYCI) is a youth-led charity helping children and young people feel safe, belong and grow. Through relationships, connections, and participation opportunities, we make sure children and young people have fun, are included and have a voice.

We are recruiting new Trustees

We are now looking to recruit new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the next phase of OYCI’s journey.

What does being a Trustee involve?

– Helping set the strategic direction of OYCI and ensuring we stay true to our purpose
– Supporting good governance, safeguarding and financial oversight
– Acting as a critical friend to the staff team, offering insight, challenge and encouragement
– Championing young people’s voices and the value of community-led approaches

Our Board meets regularly online, in person or hybrid. Trustees may also join occasional working groups depending on interest and availability.

Who are we looking for?

You do not need previous trustee experience. We are keen to hear from people who share our values and want to make a positive difference.

We would particularly welcome interest from people with experience or insight in areas such as:
– Finance, accounting or business planning
– Community development or local networks
– Property, estates or capital projects
– Governance, legal or HR
– Digital, communications or fundraising

Just as importantly, we value lived experience, curiosity, and a commitment to equity, inclusion and young people’s wellbeing. We actively encourage applications from people who are under-represented on charity boards.

What’s in it for you?

– A chance to make a meaningful contribution to young people’s lives
– Opportunities to develop skills in governance, strategy and leadership
– Being part of a committed, values-driven Board working closely with a passionate staff team
– Induction, support and learning opportunities (no one is expected to “know everything”)

Interviews: 30th March – 1st April (evening)
