We are a youth action charity dedicated to ensuring all young people have the opportunity to have fun! Our projects bring young people together in their community and provide opportunities for personal growth and support their wellbeing. Young people have a voice and a choice in everything we do!
Our activity is always free to participate in and we provide transport and food when required.
Every month we have a wide range of free activities for young people aged 10 – 18 to get involved in, including:
All of our activities and clubs support young peoples personal growth, promote positive mental health and are design to address disadvantage.
OYCI activities are completely free to participate in, we always provide food and we can provide transport when necessary.
You can see what we have on and sign up for free by clicking the button below.
If you sign up to our mailing list we will email you once a month with our new programme and give you the chance to book before anyone else.
If there is anything blocking your young persons participation – access needs, anxiety, transport, please talk to us and we’ll do what we can to get them along.
The most common feedback we receive from young people is “I had fun”. We believe all young people should have the opportunity to have fun in a safe space with friends. Our sessions always incorporate lots of games and opportunities to have a break and chill with friends.
We are always checking in with young people about how they want their sessions to run and this ensures they are always happy and having that all important fun!
Our team are all youth work trained and members of disclosure Scotland. Between us we are first aiders, mental health first aiders, happiness facilitators, coaching trained, counselling trained, and we are all nice folk who love working with young people!
All our staff are fully disclosed and youth work trained. There are a minimum of two youth workers at any session and an adult will never be alone with a young person. There is always a first aider at sessions, as well as a mental health first aider when possible.
You can read our child protection policy via the ink below.
We love our community – it’s in our name! Keep an eye on our social media for some exciting community projects coming up soon.
In the meantime here are some ways you can get involved with OYCI as a not-so-young-person.
